2023 Mobility Humanities Festival

The HK+ Mobility Humanities Education Centre organises “UCC Contest: The World of Mobility,” “Mobility of Object,” and “Mobility Book Talk” for the 2023 Mobility Humanities Festival. The “UCC Contest: The World of Mobility” shows videos illustrating the changes in urban life based on big data, autonomous vehicles, and Internet of Things (IoT) representing the industry 4.0. “Mobility of Object” is an event sharing everyday objects no longer used to practice the mobility of these objects with members of the Academy of Mobility Humanities. In the “Mobility Book Talk,” Professor Yoonji Kim from the Research Institute of Korean Studies at Korea University, and author of Dance, Coevolution of Movement and Technology, an engagement series of Mobility Humanities, will discuss the coevolution of body and technology in Korean dance.

Mobility Photo Contest: Coevolution between Human and Technology
HK+ MHE holds Mobility Photo Contest as part of the 2022 Mobility Humanities Festival from August 10 to August 31 under the theme of “Coevolution between Human and Technology”
Those who want to enter the contest need to send a photo of coevolution between Human and Technology with a personal story. To apply, submit the original photo file along with the application form, personal information collection and use agreement, and affidavit by email (to mobilityedu@konkuk.ac.kr).
An applicant may file up to a original photo copyrighted by the applicant. An award may be offered to only one of the photos submitted by a single applicant. The contest result will be announced on Sep 8. Prizes for winners are as follows: 500,000 KRW for 1 grand prize; 300,000 KRW each for 2 gold prizes; 200,000 KRW each for 3 silver prizes; 100,000 KRW each for 5 bronze prizes.
2022 Humanities Festival: Mobility and Tourism
As part of the Mobility Humanities Week, the 2021 Humanities Festival Special Lecture Series on Mobility was held online in 2 sessions from August 10 to August 31.
The first lecture, “Changes in tourism trends and new urban tourism” and "Re-Constructing everyday life as atourism attraction by local" were provided by Dr.Jurak Kim (Seoul National University).
The second lecture, “Why we become traveler?” and "How we become travelers?" were provided by Myungin Ji (University of Kentucky).
The series was offered online due to COVID-19 pandemic and was released on the Academy of Mobility Humanities’s YouTube channel.

Lighthouse Photo with a Story Contest
HK+ MHE holds Lighthouse Photo with a Story Contest as part of the 2021 Mobility Humanities Festival from September 27 to October 12 under the theme of “Guide in Mobility and Anchoring: A Story of My Own in a Korean Lighthouse!”
Those who want to enter the contest need to send a photo of a lighthouse, as a guide in navigational mobility and anchoring, with a personal story. To apply, submit the original photo file along with the application form, personal information collection and use agreement, and affidavit by email (to mobilityedu@konkuk.ac.kr).
An applicant may file up to 3 original photos copyrighted by the applicant. An award may be offered to only one of the photos submitted by a single applicant. The contest result will be announced on October 19. Prizes for winners are as follows: 1 million KRW for 1 grand prize; 700,000 KRW each for 2 gold prizes; 500,000 KRW each for 3 silver prizes; 200,000 KRW each for 5 bronze prizes.2021 Mobility Special Lecture Sreies
As part of the Mobility Humanities Week, the 2021 Humanities Festival Special Lecture Series on Mobility was held online in 2 sessions from September 27 to October 12.
The first lecture “The History of Joseon Dynasty Read through 56 Spaces” was provided by Professor Byunju Shin(Konkuk Uni); the second lecture “Trend of Future Mobility” was provided by Professor Yongjoo Kwon(Koomin Uni).
The series was offered online due to COVID-19 pandemic and was released on the Academy of Mobility Humanities’s YouTube channel to ensure easy access by a greater number of citizens.
2020 Mobility Humanities Festival

The Mobility Humanities Festival is a large-scale humanities event held during Mobility Humanities Week under the supervision of the HK+ Mobility Humanities Education Center of the Mobility Humanities Institute. The goal of the Mobility Humanities Festival, sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the Korea Research Foundation, and Konkuk University, is to spread the research results of the Mobility Humanities Institute, thereby cultivating the humanities literacy of citizens suitable for the high mobility era. It is also to achieve the popularization of the humanities in a real sense that inspires vitality.
The 3rd year 2020 Mobility Humanities Festival will be released through the Mobility Humanities Institute’s YouTube channel after online shooting for each event due to the spread of Covid-19. Through this, it is expected to be an opportunity to arouse citizens’ interest in humanities and to promote liberal arts.

The Mobility Humanities Festival is a large humanities event held during the Mobility Humanities Week under the leadership of the HK + Mobility Humanities Education Center (MHE). The goal of the Mobility Humanities Festival, sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the National Research Foundation, and Konkuk University, is to promote the research results of the Academy of Mobility Humanities AMH) and to cultivate the humanistic knowledge and literacy of citizens in the high-mobility era and increase the publics’ recognition on the humanities in a way that civil society is genuinely revitalized through knowledge and resources from the humanities.
The second year of the 2019 Mobility Humanities Festival was held in Konkuk University campus in Gwangjin-gu during the Humanities Week (September 3 ~ 6): Mobility Content included a Mobility Art Exhibition, Talk Concert, Mobility Film Festival, and Walking Mobility: Exploring Konkuk University Campus. Through this process, the research results of the Academy of Mobility Humanities were gathered and spread, and it is expected to be a great opportunity to raise the public’s interest in the Humanities.

The first year of the 2018 Mobility Humanities Festival was held in Konkuk University campus in Gwangjin-gu during the Humanities Week (November 5 ~ 9): Mobility Content included a (Photography) Exhibition, Book Concert, Speech Contests of College Students, Invited Lectures, and Walking Mobility: Exploring Konkuk University Campus. Through this process, the research results of the Academy of Mobility Humanities were gathered and spread, and it became a valuable time to induce the humanistic interest of the citizens and promote education.
