Professor Sungeun Seo from Hankyung National University presented “Characteristic and Prospects of Transmedia Storytelling” at the Mobility Humanities Colloquium.
Prof. Seo’s specialist subject and interest predominantly lies in mobility in digital media. She has authored books such as Crossmedia Storytelling and Transmedia Storytelling and published a range of journals, including “Sequential Step of Simulacre in Social Network Game,” “Online WOM Communication of Crossmedia Storytelling,” and “Research on Transmedia Storytelling of Online Game.”
In this lecture, Prof. Seo dealt with the mobility process of crossmedia storytelling, focusing on the K-drama, “Reborn Rich,” and Marvel characters. To examine this, she introduced the interrelationship between the adaptation writer and the original fandom in the mobility of crossmedia storytelling, explaining the impact of these two factors on the transmedia storytelling process.
