Nenna Orie Chuku, a Ph. D. candidate at University College London (UCL), presented “Interrupting Colonial Travel Pathways: Hallyu Imaginaries in Afro-mobilities Networks.” Chuku’s presentation was research conducted during a three-month stay at the Academy of Mobility Humanities.

Based on a qualitative study of Africans living in South Korea using information ethnography, Chuku discussed the impact of Africans’ imaginaries of Hallyu on their visits, stays and returns to South Korea, and emphasised the close relationship between migrants’ epistemological levels and migration information.
