Discussing the Social Meaning of Future Infrastructure under the Theme “Anticipatory Infrastructures”

The theme of this year’s conference was “Anticipatory Infrastructures,” discussing in depth on the role and significance of infrastructure in processes that anticipate and design the future. Approximately forty researchers in the humanities and social sciences from six countries—Korea, Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, and Singapore—participated in the conference. They shared recent research analyzing the temporality, power relations, and social conditions of infrastructure across a variety of topics, including AI and automobiles, digital transition, mobility, ecology, and care.

On 23 February, an official reception was hosted by Professor Craig Jeffrey, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) and Senior Vice-President of Monash University. During the reception, the two institutions discussed ways to expand future collaborative research and academic exchange.
