Birth, Aging, Illness, and Death among Koreans by Murayama Jijun. A photographic collection featuring 315 photographs selected from more than 400 monochrome images in his possession. By encouraging viewers to confront the photographs beyond fixed stereotypes of Korea as a colony in the 1920s and 1930s, the collection provides a stable foundation for observing Korean folk life with stability. The volume is designed to be widely utilized across multiple fields in the social sciences and humanities, including folklore studies, history, religious studies, and anthropology, in enabling a factual understanding of whether the existing situation of Korean folk traditions is transformations shaped by historical conditions.
