Human Rights and Community in the Era of High-Mobility

At this conference, legal experts participated and discussed the mobile space in the hyper-connected digital era and multicultural society. In the first session, “Law and Human Rights in the Mobile Space,” Bomi Lim (Konkuk University, HK+ Research Professor) discussed the limit of current laws in preventing sexual violence in virtual spaces and suggested new personal rights. Hyunsook Kim (Korea National Open University, Affiliated Professor) introduced potential crimes from generative AI and ChatGPT manipulations, discussing countermeasures from various countries, including South Korea and the UK. In the second session, “Mobile Communities: Toward Harmony and Coexistence,” Jungsoo Kim (Yonsei University, Visiting Professor) reflected upon the fundamental rights of foreigners in Korean society as a new community based on the constitution. Daehong Kim (Soongsil University, Professor) examined cases from Japan for improving legislation to attract foreigners to Korean society.
