《Mobility Humanities》 Achieves SCOPUS Indexing

The journal Mobility Humanities, published by the Academy of Mobility Humanities, has achieved a remarkable milestone by being indexed in SCOPUS – the world’s largest citation database – just two years after its launch. Launched in 2022, Mobility Humanities achieved this recognition in an exceptionally short period, demonstrating Konkuk University’s growing prominence in global research.

Since winning the Humanities Korea Plus (HK+) project in 2018, the Academy of Mobility Humanities has led the “mobility humanities” agenda while building an international research platform. With Konkuk University’s continued support, including its designation as a university-sponsored research institute and journal funding initiatives, the Academy of Mobility Humanities has evolved into a world-class research institute that bridges the humanities with sociology and technology studies.

Scopus, maintained by the Dutch publisher Elsevier, is highly selective, indexing only the most academically influential journals. The National Research Foundation of Korea regards Scopus-indexed publications as equivalent to SCIE-indexed journals, making them important indicators of research excellence. During the Scopus evaluation process, Mobility Humanities received particularly high marks for the academic value of its published articles and international impacts, as well as its ability to extend beyond the research scope of existing academic journals. Mobility Humanities is a non-profit open access journal that publishes original journals, scholarly interviews, and book reviews contributing to humanities-based mobility research. The journal is published twice a year, in January and July, with all content available on its website (https://journal-mobilityhumanities.com).
